We took a quick trip to Chattanooga a few days ago and here are a few of my best pictures from Rock City and Ruby Falls. Continue Reading…
I posted all of my best Juarez pictures here. But below are my favorite pictures.

I’ve been wanting to do some night photography for a while and finally got a chance last night. Here’s what I got.

Yesterday we went to the zoo to support some friends from church in a fundraising effort to cure cystic fibrosis. Here are some pictures I got while we were there.

This picture was only slightly photoshopped. OK, just kidding, it has a lot of ‘shopping done to it. I was looking around on my flickr page and noticed this picture taken in 2009. Its one of the many ‘drive-by’ pictures that I’ve taken of the skyline. This is my favorite angle of the skyline because its from the southside of town and I’ve only lived south of town so this is the angle that I’m used to seeing most. However, I haven’t found a good place to take a shot of it except from the interstate. So after seeing it on flickr and appreciating the clouds and clarity of the picture I started adding some textures and overlays and this is how it came out. By the way, this picture will soon be outdated because of the new convention center that is currently being built.
I figured that one of these pictures would be a Project52 shot for this week, but this shot just seemed more interesting. I planted these Azalea bushes this spring to replace the thorny bushes that I pulled up last fall. I got them for $3 each at Wal-mart. They’re very small so I’m surprised how much they’ve already bloomed.

We took Molly Cate to the zoo a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time in a few months. I was hoping that she is starting to get big enough to appreciate the zoo. But at 9 months, she still doesn’t look that amused. She’s basically just along for the ride.
I’ve taken a lot of zoo pictures over the last couple of years, and I didn’t take as many this trip, but the ones below are some that are a little different than ones in the past.
The meerkats are usually fun to shoot. I think one reason I like to shoot them is because you can get close to them, and if you get down on their level (and with enough tries,) you can often get a decent shot. This one was shot through the glass. Oh, and the new baby meerkats are pretty cute.

For the last two years, Elizabeth and I have given calendars to our family. These calendars not only feature my favorite twelve pictures from the previous year, they also have the birthdays of each family member.
